1.  Expecting Baby #2?

Meet with other expectant parents to discuss preparation for the arrival of #2 and perhaps continue as a group once the babies arrive.  When enough folks express interest, the group will determine when, where, and how often they will meet.  Contact Janelle Morrow at frappgirl@yahoo.com for more information!

 

2.  Go All in for PEPS!

Play poker for PEPS!  Join fellow PEPSters for an evening of Texas Hold ‘Em to support PEPS programs.  Tournament and reception will be held at the Washington Athletic Club downtown; ticket prices vary.  Check www.pepsgroup.org for details.

3.  Halloween Treats & Treasures in Admiral!

Over 25 Admiral District businesses will be participating in our 3rd annual Halloween Treats & Treasures.  This is event is FREE and open to all 'pirates, ghosts and goblins'!!

 

Just pick up a Treasure map from the participating businesses listed below; Follow the map and collect Treasure Stamps and Treats at each location. At the end of your journey, sail over to Merrill Gardens with your map to enter to win a Treasure Chest worth over $200.

4.  2nd Annual Gathering of Neighbors powered by Megawatt

Gathering of Neighbors, powered by Megawatt, is a fun, lively, energizing West Seattle festival that brings together community organizations and local residents of all ages to highlight and celebrate our abundant resources, build social connections, and experience the benefits of community interaction and involvement.  Enjoy free food provided by local vendors, music, dance performances, door prizes, entertainment for kids, and an Expo of over 50 of West Seattle's organizations, neighborhood groups, small businesses, and schools.

 

This year's keynote speaker will be Mark Lakeman from City Repair, a non-profit organization that works with communities to creatively design public gathering places that bring neighbors together. Guest emcee will be West Seattle's own Marty Riemer, 103.7 KMTT radio DJ.

5.  Love & Logic Parenting Classes

Love and Logic provides parents with easy-to-use, practical techniques that help adults achieve respectful and healthy relationships with children aged 0-6. The class will teach the unique Love and Logic approach to raising children that puts parents in control, teaches children to be responsible and prepares them for the real world. The new Early Childhood Made Fun class is designed to give you the skills to feel confident in your parenting skills. designed for adults with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers this program addresses:


. bedtime battles
. how to respond to tantrums
. how to avoid power struggles
. meals without the battles
. how to stay calm in stressful situations
. great comebacks all parents need to know
. youngsters that grow to safe, smart, confident teens
. and much more!

This 5-week program begins on Monday November 5th.  Classes to be held on Monday evenings from 7-9pm at Providence Mt. St. Vincent Intergenerational Learning Center in West Seattle.  Cost is $65/person or $120/couple and includes the training, parent handbook, and additional materials.  Contact Megan Kophs at

6.  Join our West Seattle PEPS Online Community – It’s Free & Fun

Join our online group at Judy’s Book, a place where you can post announcements, questions, or suggestions to our West Seattle PEPS community outside of the monthly newsletter.  It’s interactive, so you can post directly to the request!
