1.  PEPS’ 8th Annual Fundraising Luncheon

Join the PEPS community for a great afternoon supporting a great organization!  This year’s luncheon features Seattle’s own Heidi Raykeil, author of "Confessions of A Naughty Mommy: How I Found My Lost Libido".  This event is free; all PEPS' supporters are welcome to attend. A suggested minimum donation of $100 will be asked of you at the luncheon.  Gather up your PEPS friends and “do lunch”!  For more information:  www.pepsgroup.org.

2.  Megawatt’s 2nd Annual Community Garage Sale

Megawatt is sponsoring the second annual West Seattle Community Garage Sale on Saturday, May 13, 2006!!  Over 100 organizations and individuals are expected to participate this year.  If you are not planning to hold a garage sale, but do have items you would like to donate, please contact Megawatt – they will be having their own fundraising "megasale" that day and would appreciate any donations to that effort!

3.  Nurturing Pathways Series at the Y

Nurturing Pathways is a complete music and movement program for children aged birth to three years, grounded in current brain research and executed with best teaching practices!  Sessions run for 8 weeks; the current session ends May 21 but enrollment is welcome at any time during the session.  All classes are held at the West Seattle Family YMCA.  For more information about fees, schedules, and the program, go to http://www.pepswestseattle.org/npflier.pdf.

 

4.  Happenings at Alki Community Center in May

Friday Night Rollerskating!  An event for all ages and all abilities! This is a great time to practice your skills and tricks while experiencing a roller-rink atmosphere. You can always look forward to the limbo, friendly racing, and the snack bar. If you don’t have your own skates, you can borrow a pair of ours! All ages, every Friday from 6:45 p.m.–8:45 p.m. $2.00/person

Parents Night Out: Bring your child to the center for an evening of fun - including roller skating! - while you enjoy a movie in the Admiral neighborhood or fine food along Alki Beach. Friday, May 12 6:30 – 9 p.m.  Ages 5-10.  $10/child

5.  Parenting Lectures from ParentMap

ParentMap’s Pathways Lecture Series continues through June with the following two lectures:  The Pressured Child: Helping Your Child Find Success in School and Life with Michael G. Thompson, Ph.D. on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 7-9pm in Bellevue and  For Better or Worse? 6.  Cones for Kids sponsored by the EJ Guild

Join us for scrumptious Husky Deli ice cream and a chance to win one of our raffle baskets.  All proceeds will be donated to ChildLife, which benefits Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center.  For further information, please email catio12@comcast.net
