dedication, Amy Daly-Donovan has passed the newsletter torch to fellow PEPS
cheerleader, Rebecca Ward. Please send your suggestions, announcements, ideas or

Naturalists at Alki Have you ever
seen a delicate, otherwordly opalescent nudibranch or the round, sandy egg case
of the moon snail? Every year, trained volunteers visit area beaches and help
beachgoers spot and identify the fascinating, colorful creatures uncovered by
summer low tides. Kids can learn how to respectfully observe and handle
intertidal animals, and how to leave the beach in good shape after they leave.
Naturalists will be at South Alki and Lincoln Park in West Seattle. Check www.seattleaquarium.org/conservation/beach/ for

Sundays at the Aquarium The aquarium's
first-Sunday family program includes special activities and a craft for the
kids, with a different sea theme every month. This month is “Jellyfish –
Beautiful Drifters”, July will be "Pufferfish.". June – August

Annual Fire Department Day Fire departments
from around King County share cool trucks and awesome gear in this 10th annual
event at Museum of Flight. Safety skills for kids, life-saving information for
adults, games and low-cost bike helmets. This is a FREE outdoor event.

West Seattle
Outdoor Cinema The summer brings a return of a
favorite family fun activity, the Outdoor Sidewalk Cinema! Gather family and
friends and bring your own chairs to view a movie while sitting under the stars
at Dr. Pierce's courtyard (just north of the Post Office on California). These
events are free, but the I Give Where I Live Campaign Promotion will
"pass the hat" with proceeds to benefit the West Seattle Helpline, Westside Baby
and the Senior Center of West Seattle. Dates have been set, so mark your
calendars now. This is a 6 week series on Saturday night starting in
July. July 21. July 28, August 4th, August 11, August 18,

Baby Stuff the Bus Event It's Stuff the Bus time
again! Watch for the big yellow school bus at the West Seattle
Farmers Market on Sunday July 29 from 10-2. Now is the time to plan your
diaper drives to help us fill the bus to the windows with 60,000
diapers. As always, diapers (all sizes),
baby blankets, clothing, and baby equipment are needed -- feel free to drop off
donations at West Seattle Kids Hair Salon or the Fauntleroy Church.

Community School of West Seattle has a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to
purchase their facilities and is celebrating with an adult-only auction. Come

one of a kind crafts and lots of local art up for bid. All proceeds go to CSWS.
