1. The
Neverending Story
The Neverending Story is a tale of
imagination. Who can forget the dragon Falkor as he was portrayed in the 1984
film version? Time for a new experience of a modern classic, and a first-rate
intro to the story. Based on the novel by Michael Ende, who also penned the
film adaptation, this stage production features original music by —you'll never
guess —Ann and Nancy Wilson of all-girl rock band Heart. www.sct.org.
December 7 – January 27
Seattle Children’s Theater
2. Colossal Fossils:
Dinosaurs Around the World
It's a first for Seattle.
View a collection of fossils, eggs, skeletons and artifacts that pull visitors
back into time when dinosaurs were at the top of the evolutionary heap. Kids
can dig for bones, view real dino skeletons from China, see dinos at
their earliest stages of development in the egg and embryo exhibit and more.
Free with admission. www.pacsci.org.
Through January 6
Pacific Science Center
3. Moneyville
at the Children’s Museum
Learn
all about dollars and cents in a hands-on exhibit that includes a high-tech
lemonade stand, currency from different countries and areas where kids can
learn about markets, global trade and money management. It's all presented in
kid-friendly format so tykes' eyes won't glaze over, and we're betting that
adults will learn a thing or two as well. Free with admission. www.thechildrensmuseum.org.
Through January 13
The Children’s Museum
4. Fantastic
Fishtival at the Seattle Aquarium

lots of activities at the aquarium, including arts and crafts, storytelling and
a chance to learn about the care of the aquarium's animals. Each day will
