Part-time Administrative Assistant Position

ZippyDogs, top breeders of cost-effective incentive ideas and brand-touting promotional products! We are a fast growing small business in need of help during our busiest months, March through August!

 

We are looking for an Administrative Assistant for our home-based business on a temporary, part-time basis. Candidates will assist the owners by performing office activities such as filing, data entry, answer and screen telephone calls. In addition, a candidate will perform account coordinating tasks such as product research, order follow-up, and will interact with vendors and customers in person and on the phone. Any applicant must be able to demonstrate a strong customer service background, have a minimum of two years of related work experience and an Associate Degree in related field. Candidates must have excellent computer skills and be savvy in Microsoft Office applications; Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and be able to quickly learn our in-house research and customer management database.

Check out the www.preschoolrock.com website for a great source of ideas for crafts, activities, and projects!  There are also sections on parenting, books, science and nature, potty training, parties, fitness, and nutrition (the nutrition site is written by WS PEPster Kati Chevaux!). There are give-aways each month and other fun stuff.

1.  Toy Swap @ High Point Community Center

Bring your gently used toys to High Point and sell them to your neighbors. This is a great way to buy that special something for your child, while encouraging recycling and reusing. Light refreshments will be served. $2 per table for sellers; free to buyers.

2.  Kindergarten Fairs

Two Kindergarten Fairs feature school exhibits and enrollment information. Talk to school representatives and enrollment specialists, and have your questions answered.  For more info: www.seattleschools.org

West Seattle Fair
South Seattle Community College, along with Seattle Public Schools, is sponsoring a Kindergarten Fair of public and private schools available to West Seattle families.  Representatives from West Seattle public schools, as well as some city-wide alternative schools, and several private schools will be in attendance to talk with prospective families and answer their questions. Seattle Schools Enrollment Services will be on hand to accept registrations and school applications.

3.  Nurturing Pathways Series at the West Seattle & Fauntleroy YMCAs

Nurturing Pathways® is an early childhood creative dance program promoting healthy development and strong bonds between parent and child.  Sessions are starting up again here at the West Seattle & Fauntleroy YMCAs for babies, waddlers, and toddlers.  The sessions are 8 weeks long; baby & waddler classes are 45 minutes and toddler classes are one hour in length. 

 

You may register and pay at either YMCA for either location.  Sessions begin the week of January 8; 8-Week sessions are $85.00 (Members) & $95.00 (Program Members) plus a one-time materials fee of $30.00 for the Parent Pack.

4.  PEPS Needs Volunteer Group Leaders in West Seattle!

Here’s a goal for the new year … help to provide the same great PEPS experience for others.  PEPS is looking for volunteer group leaders in West Seattle – day or evening groups, led on your own or with a co-facilitator.  You select the day/time that is most convenient for you.

5.  Family Tea Time

Warm up from the cold with a spot of tea! This family tea time is guaranteed to be a great time full of socializing, while you practice your manners. Tea, finger sandwiches, and cookies will be served. $3 per family.

6.  Babysitting Co-op

Looking to solve the babysitter dilemma?  Try a babysitting coop. Learn from moms who started a co-op that has been running successfully for almost five years. We will go over how to recruit members, how many members are needed, how to pay out and earn points for sits, how to do daytime and evening sits. We used the book “The Smart Mom’s Baby Sitting Co-op Handbook” as our guide, but made many adjustments over the years including reverse sits and even overnight sits. Join us to learn more about starting your own babysitting co-op.  Please RSVP to athiggins@comcast.net or kathleenpallen@comcast.net so we can plan accordingly.
