Preschoolrock is looking for regional correspondents, writers who are parents to write about preschool-related happenings and things to do in various cities. It's a new area being developed for preschoolrock.com.  We still need someone to write for Seattle!  If interested, contact Kati (kchevaux@comcast.ne) for more information.

1.  Pre-Valentine’s Party @ High Point Community Center

Love is in the air and this party is going to be sweet! Make your Valentine a card and decorate a cookie or two! The night couldn't be more right for an evening of creativity and fun. $3 per family.

2.  Childrens Puppet Theatre

Once a month the areas best puppet entertainers will be coming to Alki Bathhouse.  The cost of admission is $6 for parent and child, and $9 for the whole family.

3.  Kids Night Out

Let's show the grown ups how to have fun!  Enjoy a jumpy toy to wear ourselves out, a movie to relax, juice and hot chocolate to hydrate, and hotdogs to fuel our energy!  Socializing and recreating is the name of the game. Mom and Dad, we'll be ready for bed by the time this night is over. $3 per family

4.  Pathways Lecture Series:  Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work with Dr. John Gottman

ParentMap presents the 2007 Lecture Series!  The first presentation is based on Dr. Gottman’s New York Times bestseller, The Seven Principles For Making Marriage Work. These straightforward and profound principles teach couples strategies for making their marriage work at every stage in their lives, and can have a positive impact on the entire family..  The greatest gift parents can give their child is a loving marriage.   Tickets for this event are $25 in advance/$28 at the door; tickets may also be purchased online.  For more information about this and the six other lectures in the series, visit http://www.parentmap.com/pathways.htm

5.  Spring Tot Walks at Camp Long
Explore the wonders of nature with your tots (ages 2-5). Discover life in the pond, forest, field and meet new friends.  These themed hour-long walks in April and May are led by a Camp Long Naturalist and some sessions are held at Mee Kwa Mooks park. In addition, there is an optional half-hour snack social after the class, at cabin #4 (snacks provided). This is an informal opportunity for parents and tots to be  social and have a snack together.   Fees are $7 for one adult/one child together; one additional child is $3.50.  Pre-registration is required and begins on March 13; please call 684-7434 for more information.  The specific schedule is posted on the WS PEPS website http://pepswestseattle.org/calendar.html#education or check Camp Long’s site: www.seattle.gov/parks/Environment/camplong.htm.
