1. Westside Baby’s Fifth Annual Valentine Tea – Save the Date!

Save the date for the 5th Annual Valentine’s Day Tea to benefit Westside Baby!  Sunday February 12 is the date, the Tea is being held this year at the Atrium at the Seattle Design Center.  Westside Baby is actively recruiting Table Captains to invite friends to learn more about and help support this wonderful organization.  For more information, contact Erin Audley at erinaudley@comcast.net.

As always, diapers (all sizes), baby blankets, clothing, and baby equipment are needed -- why not clean out your unused items before the holidays and donate them to Westside Baby?  Feel free to drop off donations at West Seattle Kids Hair Salon or the Fauntleroy Church.   Thank you so very much!!   www.westsidebaby.org

2.  Sing With a Child – PEPS Benefit CD

A perfect gift for the holidays, and all proceeds benefit PEPS programs!  Click http://tinyurl.com/84ncm to order from Amazon.com.  Sing with a Child was recorded, produced and mixed by PEPS parent Chris Ballew, who has been making music since he was four years old.  He achieved international success in 1995 as lead singer and songwriter with The Presidents of the United States of America (www.presidentsrock.com) and is still rockin’.

3.  Thank You

To those who volunteer their time and talents to maintain PEPS in West Seattle (for over 3 years now!!!) – thank you Michelle Drewien, Jane Wainwright, Fiona Preedy, Lisa Perry, Christine Leahy, Betsy Boyer, Annie Higgins, Karri Lange, and Jana Barber.  We are eager to include more folks in the planning and execution of PEPS in West Seattle ideas.  Would you like to join us?  We will be meeting in December to brainstorm for 2006.  Contact Amy at amy@dalydonovan.com for more info and to join up with a bunch of fun folks.

4.  Online Resources for Holiday Happenings

Looking for places to go, things to do this holiday season???  Check out these local resources: www.parentmap.com and www.gocitykids.com.

5.  Westside School – Open Houses

Westside School is an independent elementary school that values high-academic standards and challenges students on an individual basis. Class sizes are small, and teachers work with students to identify each child’s strengths and weaknesses. Children enjoy coming to school, and they learn to cooperate and work together in groups. Westside provides an intellectual, caring environment, where students are safe to make mistakes, to learn and to play.

Westside starts its admission season for the 2006-2007 school year in November.  Open House for Pre-School and Pre-K is December 10, and for all grade levels on January 28.  For tour and open house information, please visit www.westsideschool.org or call 206.932.2511. Some spaces are still available for the current school year. If you are interested in learning more, please call.

6.  Kindergarten Fair

The annual Kindergarten Fair sponsored by South Seattle Community College for West Seattle schools will be Saturday, January 21, 2006 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Jerry Brockey Center at the college.

The Fair features school exhibits and enrollment information.  Talk to school representatives and enrollment specialists.  Attend a presentation and get your questions answered. For new students, bring your child's registration information - we'll review it with you to be sure it's complete - making it faster and more convenient when you go to an Enrollment Center or the Bilingual Family Center to enroll your child.
